Artist Statement

I recognize the sharp edges, rough surfaces and impenetrability of the metal as conditions which were often at the core of my law enforcement career. I work purposefully to fabricate those aspects into sculptures that capture the beauty and softness I see in nature despite the harsh environment. I don’t know if my work affects other people as strongly, but this is what I experience in every flawed and imperfect piece of metal I transform into something greater than itself.​
